External Forms
Updated over a week ago

In ScreenSpace, you can direct users to external forms by setting any Action to External URL and entering the link for your form. This method allows you to integrate existing lead capture systems with ease.

Important Note: Lead data captured through embedded forms cannot be used or analyzed within ScreenSpace. This method strictly embeds the form within your Story.

How to Use External Forms

  1. Create or locate your external form on your preferred platform.

  2. Get the URL of your form.

  3. Set any Action to External Link:

    • In your Story, select the interactive element you want to link to the form.

    • Choose External Link as the Action.

    • Enter the URL of your form.

Pre-Filling Your Form

Pre-fill form fields by including variables inside the URL that can be passed into the form. This can include known lead info, your Story name, conversion button, etc. This feature is available to Growth plans only.

  1. Create Variables: Wrap any text inside your URL with brackets {} to turn it into a variable.

    Example: https://share.hsforms.com/formId?first_name={First Name}&source={Story Name}

  2. Set the Variable: You can either pre-set the variable inside your Share Link, or dynamically set the variable via your Story's UTM parameter.

Using external forms ensures that your lead capture process is integrated with your current systems while maintaining the engaging experience of your ScreenSpace Stories.

For HubSpot, Marketo, and Pardot we recommend connecting your forms via a native form in order to take advantage of ScreenSpace lead capture and engagement data inside ScreenSpace as well.
