Actions
Updated over 3 months ago

Actions are either triggered by user interactions or a pre-defined duration. They guide the audience through a narrative or lead to an external resource.

  • Open a StoryPoint to provide additional context or step by step guidance

  • Jump to a Scene to move through the Story like a presentation. Selecting a non-consecutive Scene (choose-your-own-adventure) requires the Engage or Growth plan.

  • Close StoryPoint – StoryPoints Only

Transitions

When jumping from one Scene to another, ScreenSpace offers two types of transitions to enhance the flow of your Story:

Quick Cut To Scene

Description: This transition instantly changes from one scene to another without any visual effects. It provides a seamless, immediate switch that keeps the audience focused on the content.

When to Use: Ideal for scenarios where you want to maintain a fast-paced narrative or when the transition needs to be quick and unobtrusive. Best for product tours.

Fade to Color

Description: This transition smoothly fades the current scene to the next. In the case of the Hero Device being the same in both scenes (Monitor → Monitor or Simple → Simple), the screen will dip to specified color before transitioning to the next scene. It provides a visual break that can be used to signify a shift in context or tone – like transitions in a movie.

When to Use: Perfect for transitioning between different sections of your Story or when moving to an entirely new area of your product. It helps to create a momentary pause that prepares the audience for the new content.

How to set the transition color

Click Appearance in the tools, and select the Transition Color at the bottom of the window. Typically you'll want to use the same background color of your product.
